A History of Commitment to Construction Law
Mazur Carp & Rubin’s deep commitment to the construction industry dates back to 1968, when Sayward (Woody) Mazur, the firm’s cofounder, began practicing construction law with the legendary Max E. Greenberg. Twelve years later, Woody teamed with T&E lawyer Gerald Carp to form Mazur & Carp. Gary Rubin became a shareholder in the firm’s construction practice in 1985, and the firm assumed its present name five years later. Ira Schulman, formerly a partner at another major construction law firm, joined Mazur Carp & Rubin in 1997 as counsel and became a shareholder in 2000. Frank Wagner came to the firm in 1988 and became a shareholder in 2000. Brian Lustbader joined the construction practice as counsel in 2000. Associate Consuelo (”Connie”) Alden Vasquez joined the firm’s construction practice in 2003.

A Tradition of Excellence in Trusts & Estates
Gerald I. Carp co-founded Mazur & Carp in 1980, after having practiced as a trust and estate partner at a large, prestigious law firm, where he wrote, published and lectured widely in his field of expertise. In 1985 Mazur Carp & Rubin’s T&E practice was poised for growth, and Thomas Draper joined as an associate, bringing to bear his own distinguished record as a tax and estate attorney. He became a shareholder in 2000. Jeffrey Goldman, a respected estate litigation attorney, joined Mazur Carp & Rubin as an associate in 2005.

Focus on Growth
After 21 years at 2 Park Avenue, Mazur Carp & Rubin moved in 2004 to larger quarters at 1250 Broadway, accommodating its growing practice with inspiring “river to river’ views of the New York City skyline.
