Jules J. Haskel joined the Trusts and Estates Practice at Mazur, Carp & Rubin as counsel in April 2007, bringing a half century of experience to the firm.

 
Jules, a member of the New York State Office of Court Administration Surrogate’s Court Advisory Committee, has prepared more than 2,000 wills as well as trust agreements. He is a past president of the Queens County Bar Association and a past chair of the Trusts and Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
 
Jules has judged litigations as a court appointed referee in New York State Supreme Court and Surrogate’s Court. He has tried cases in the Surrogate’s Courts in Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester as well as in Federal District Courts. He has also appeared before the New York State Court of Appeals and the Appellate Division 1st and 2nd Departments.
 

Jules is a member of the New York State Bar Association House of Delegates and its Executive Committee. He was chair of its Action Unit No. 4, which promulgated a proposal for the selection of judges on the basis of their merits, which was adopted by the Association’s House of Delegates.

 

Aside from his J.D. from the School of Law at New York University, Jules received a degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
